This exhibit introduces visitors to a little beach town that is the playground of movie stars and a seaside escape for L.A. city dwellers, famed for its palisades and amusement piers. It’s where Route 66 ends, Muscle Beach was born and Douglas Aircraft boomed. All-new exhibits and a significant photographic collection tell these stories and more, including news-making political scuffles and civic projects, and the Native Americans, Spanish settlers and Mexican ranch-owners who first lived here.
