California is home to more immigrants than any other state in the nation, but stories of immigration are rarely told. In this AV story wall, visitors have a chance to meet some of the people who made this journey and hear their stories. As visitors walk down the hallway, immigrants step out of the shadows and pause. Visitors can then select one of several stories about an immigrant, whose journeys are as varied as the countries from which they came. The stories are all told by Californians—our classmates, our friends, and our neighbors.
At nearby video kiosks visitors can also submit their own stories and view stories left by other visitors. This exhibit is the first of a larger exhibition on this theme at the museum.
